Job summary

Avonside Girls’ High School/TeKuraKohine Ōtākaro is seeking an experienced kaiako to work in our Learning Support Department. The kaiako will have experience in curriculum adaptation and with the SPEC programme, expanding SPEC use to support akonga needing an alternative pathway through NCEA.

• Experience in curriculum adaptation and differentiation to support diverse learners.
• Experience implementing the SPEC programme to create alternative pathways through NCEA.
• Ability to grow use of SPEC and support students in life skills and progress.

Responsibilities

• Grow the use of SPEC in our school by working with a diverse group of akonga who need an alternative pathway through NCEA.
• Support students with life skills and teach a programme of study that enables progress and achievement.
• Work in our Learning Support Department to differentiate learning pathways for student success.

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher

Fixed term 2027 (Study Leave), 32 weeks,part-time 10 hours a week.
