The College also runs a successful Football Academy comprising of two men’s and one women’s football team. Students within the Academy and other College teams receive coaching, structured within their timetable. Several of our students have reached county and international level in their sports

Our main priorities are to maintain and extend our examination success and to provide our students with a range of attractive and interesting courses and activities. It is our overall aim to develop further the role of Physical Education within the College by encouraging even greater student participation in all types of sports courses.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Tutor Responsibilities

The Personal Tutor has two primary responsibilities: to support and to inform.

The Personal Tutor plays a vital role in motivating, monitoring, supporting and guiding students’ academic progress through the College through regular one-to-one consultations. Daily and weekly attendance reports, a college-wide electronic mark book, and the student profiling cycle all provide valuable information about individual progress and enable Tutors to identify problems at an early stage. It is the responsibility of the Tutor in the first instance to act upon this information as appropriate. This may mean, for example, offering advice, liaising with other subject staff or organizing additional subject support.
