A Good secondary school in Darlington is seeking a passionate, adaptable, and skilled Teacher of Spanish to join their Modern Foreign Languages department on a full-time maternity cover from January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across KS3 and KS4, fostering a love for language learning, cultural awareness, and confident communication skills.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Spanish lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, covering key linguistic skills including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment that encourages student confidence and progression.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support or challenge.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear, constructive feedback to support attainment.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations, ensuring they feel well‑prepared and supported.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and the broader improvement of the MFL department.
  • Support enrichment activities where possible, such as language clubs, cultural events, or international‑themed activities.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Spanish at KS3-KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to bring the Spanish language and culture to life.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills, with a commitment to raising achievement.
