Teacher of Photography - Burntwood - An Academy for Girls
About Us

Full time/Part time: Part time - 0.6FTE or 0.8FTE
Contract Type: Temporary, up to 1-year (Maternity Cover)
Reporting to: Head of Cluster
Commencing: September 2025

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and inspiring Teacher of Photography to join our thriving Visual Arts and Design Technology team. A Head of Department TLR is available for suitably qualified candidates; however, applications from Classroom Teachers who do not wish to take on a TLR are welcome.

The role involves teaching KS4 - KS5 Photography and potentially some KS3 Art and Design.

Our Photography curriculum is well-developed and resourced, delivered in outstanding facilities, including a large darkroom, excellent Technician support, and a collaborative teaching team.

This is a maternity cover post, initially for two terms.

The position can be offered as a 3 or 4 day per week role, to suit the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will:

  • have a relevant first degree and be QTS qualified by the start date
  • have the subject knowledge and experience to teach Photography GCSE and A-Level
  • be able to motivate and inspire students to love Art and Photography
  • be committed to working successfully as a member of a team
  • have very strong organisational and interpersonal skills

Salary Grade: Inner London Teachers’ Pay Scale plus a possible TLR allowance* (A Head of Department TLR is available for suitably qualified candidates).
