Job summary

Astrea Academy Sheffield is seeking a passionate Teacher of Physical Education to inspire scholars through sport, physical activity and teamwork. You will plan engaging PE lessons, foster confidence, resilience and leadership, and support wider school life.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and challenging PE lessons that inspire all scholars to participate, achieve and excel.
• Create a positive learning environment where scholars develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and a passion for physical activity.
• Plan and deliver high-quality teaching that secures strong progress and outcomes for all learners.
• Use assessment effectively to identify strengths, address misconceptions and support scholars to achieve their potential.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all scholars, including those with SEND and other additional needs.
• Promote high standards of behaviour and establish a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment.
• Support the wider sporting life of the academy through extracurricular opportunities, enrichment activities and academy events.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve teaching, learning and curriculum delivery.
