Astrea Academy Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Physical Education to inspire students through sport, physical activity, and healthy competition. The role is permanent and full-time, within a vibrant all-through academy committed to knowledge-rich education.

You will deliver engaging PE lessons, support learners' confidence, teamwork and resilience, and contribute to whole-school life through extracurricular activities.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering PE to mixed-ability students.
• Ability to promote confidence, resilience and teamwork.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
• Knowledge of UK PE curriculum expectations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and challenging PE lessons that inspire all scholars to participate, achieve and excel.
• Create a positive learning environment where scholars develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and a passion for physical activity.
• Plan and deliver high-quality teaching that secures strong progress and outcomes for all learners.
• Use assessment effectively to identify strengths, address misconceptions and support scholars to achieve their potential.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all scholars, including those with SEND and other additional needs.
• Promote high standards of behaviour and establish a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment.
• Support the wider sporting life of the academy through extracurricular opportunities, enrichment activities and academy events.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve teaching, learning and curriculum delivery.
