Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2024
Salary: MPS/UPS:
£30,000 - £46,525 per annum

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

GSL Education are looking to hire qualified and experienced Linguists to work as Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages at an exceptional client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire starting in September 2024 .

Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons to students at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Focus on developing students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in the target language.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Develop and update the MFL curriculum in line with national standards and school policies.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves in the target language.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in language teaching

Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Previous teaching experience in the last 2 years (placements can be counted for ECTs or NQTs).
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Build and maintain appropriate relationships with staff, students, and outside agencies.
  • Mark and assess work, providing in-depth detail for pupils to be able to progress.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment within the classroom
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
