Job description

We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic teacher who can bring Mathematics to life for pupils in an exceptional boarding-school environment. The successful candidate will teach Maths from Year 9 to Year 13 and have high expectations, dynamism, and excellent communication skills.

Our Mathematics department is comprised of experienced and dedicated teachers, committed to making Maths both accessible and exciting to all students. We aim to inspire a love of problem-solving, logical reasoning, and mathematical curiosity. Together the department form a strong team that support one another and regularly share best practices.

Students achieve top grades at GCSE and many go on to study Maths in the Sixth Form, either through the IB Diploma programme or at A Level, where we offer both Maths and Further Maths as well as Core Maths as an enrichment option.

Bryanston is a leading co-educational full-boarding school set in a beautiful 400-acre campus, surrounded by Dorset countryside, and provides an outstanding education for 780 pupils aged 3-18. We pride ourselves on being a happy, creative, and forward-thinking place to learn with the freedom to explore.

This is a one year fixedappointment, to start during the Autumn term 2026 ideally, however later start dates can be considered.

We welcome applications from ECTs and experienced teachers from both the independent and state sectors. The person appointed will also have the opportunity to contribute to the pastoral, boarding and co-curricular life of the School.

Bryanston School offers an exceptional working environment, which includes a competitive salary, state of the art facilities and wide-ranging prospects for development.

The welfare of Bryanston pupils is of paramount importance. Bryanston is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers share this commitment. Bryanston is committed to celebrating diversity and a culture of open-mindedness and inclusion. We stand against everything to do with discrimination and promote fundamental British values.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School will conduct an online search of any applicant invited for interview. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
