Job description

We are looking to recruit a Teacher of Maths to join us at the end of August 2025 (or 30th June 2025 for an available ECT year 1 candidate).

Beaumont Leys School is a highly successful 11-16 school. We are very proud of the progress our students make, and the destinations that our students go on to; many of our students have challenging backgrounds and low prior attainment on intake and so we are the beacon of hope for their futures. We believe that a high quality education leads not only to transformative exam results for students, but also in great character development. We want students to feel that they belong in our school and develop their sense of self-worth alongside an understanding of the positive impact they can have on those around them.

Together We Achieve Success is our motto and the driving force for our school. Our students thrive because our staff are dedicated to students’ success; to building positive relationships; and to collaborating and working as a team within a supportive environment. We are a school with a heart and soul, and we believe our job is to give our students the best possible chances in life, creating some fantastic lifelong memories along the way.

We believe in ‘going the extra mile’ to help support students and staff. We believe in the power of our staff. Maths has been on an impressive journey in our school and results have shown a strong upward trend. We want to employ teachers with the skills and determination to help us to continue to make a positive difference to what we and our students can achieve.

We work hard to recruit the best and then we support them to be even better. Our internal promotion record is impressive, even our Headteacher started with us as a newly qualified teacher. We engage extensively with local ITT providers, including Teach First and Researchers into School, and provide an excellent ECF support programme and a strong and well-evaluated programme of professional learning. Our teachers are always learners and as such role model everything we want for our students. Therefore, if you want a forward thinking, dynamic school to take your career to the next level, we would welcome your application.

We are committed to keeping children and young people safe from harm and abuse and to promoting their welfare, and we expect that everyone who comes to work for us will share the same commitment.

All roles within the school are covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, and are subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Ofsted Rating: Good in March 2020

Full details and an application form are available from the school website

Closing Date: Monday 19th May 2025

Date of interviews: Wednesday 21st May 2025

We are committed to keeping children and young people safe from harm and abuse and to promoting their welfare, and we expect that everyone who comes to work for us will share the same commitment. Fulfilling this responsibility includes making sure that our recruitment process includes a range of measures to identify those who may be unsuitable to work with children and young people. In addition, all roles within the school/college are covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, and are subject to an enhanced DBS check. These posts may also be subject to further DBS re-checks at appropriate intervals. Further information about what the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 means for applicants is provided on the Application Form.
