We are a friendly, collaborative department dedicated to inspiring students with a passion for French through the curriculum and co-curricular opportunities. You will be a well-qualified and inspiring teacher with outstanding subject knowledge and a successful track record of teaching.

Responsibilities include teaching French at Key Stage 3 and GCSE levels. You will have experience employing a wide range of teaching and learning strategies to support and stretch every student.

Woldingham is a happy and successful Catholic boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18, well established as one of the top girls’ independent schools in the UK, outperforming many schools with more selective admissions. Our success is rooted in academic enrichment, extracurricular activities, pastoral support, and a caring community. Located close to London in a beautiful rural setting, Woldingham boasts a strong community and a proud heritage spanning 180 years. We are committed to an innovative future supported by fresh ideas and state-of-the-art facilities.

The Woldingham community is diverse, representing many backgrounds and cultures, with numerous languages spoken. We value and respect this diversity and welcome applications from all candidates who meet the role's requirements, regardless of background or culture. All applicants will be considered solely on their ability to do the job.

Please submit your application and cover letter to hr@woldinghamschool.co.uk. The role closes at 09:00 AM on Tuesday, 24 June 2025. Interviews will be held on Friday, 27 June 2025. Early applications are encouraged, and we reserve the right to close the vacancy early if a suitable candidate is appointed.

Woldingham School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.

We prioritize professional development and staff welfare. Our staff are our greatest asset, and we support their effective, enjoyable, and fulfilling work. We offer induction and mentoring for NQTs and new staff, along with an annual Personal Professional Development planning cycle.

Staff have access to excellent facilities, including a gym, squash and tennis courts, and a swimming pool. Our Staffroom Committee organizes social events, and some staff have organized yoga classes and reflexology sessions on site.
