We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, inspirational and highly motivated Teacher of English with Reading and Literacy Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner who is passionate about English, reading, literacy and oracy, and who is committed to driving excellence across the school. This role will oversee the strategic planning, implementation and quality assurance of our reading initiatives to overcome barriers to education.

The successful candidate will work closely with school leaders and staff to embed high‑quality reading and disciplinary literacy approaches across the curriculum. You will plan and deliver purposeful CPD, support teachers to become confident teachers of reading and literacy and promote best practice across the school. A key element of the role includes leading Forensic Reading to ensure a consistently high‑quality oracy education, leading the form time reading programme, alongside supporting transition from KS2 to KS3 to create a smooth and successful literacy journey for all students.

The ideal candidate will share our student‑centred values and be an engaging and proactive teacher with a passion for lifelong learning. You must firmly believe and be driven to ensure that every student regardless of starting point, can achieve success, enjoy school, and be engaged with wider school life, to become the best that they can be.
