Job description

The Digital Department is looking to appoint a suitably qualified, dynamic Teacher of Computing and ICT for a full-time Maternity Cover. Our growing department offers students the highest standard of Digital education across a variety of courses. FutureSkills@MediaCity boasts outstanding IT facilities, the latest technology, links with both national and local businesses and a strong, supportive department., Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility, and all staff are expected to understand their role in identifying and responding to concerns.

  • This role involves regular contact with children and/or young people and may include regulated activity as defined by current safeguarding legislation.
  • This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as part of our safeguarding commitment we undertake DBS and further safeguarding checks as part of our pre-employment procedures on all potential new employees.
  • It is an offence to apply if you have been barred from regulated activity with children.
  • The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the safeguarding responsibilities outlined in the job description and person specification.

The successful applicant will be able to teach Level 1-3 across Computing and Information Technology areas. It is also desirable for candidates to possess an understanding of BTEC and OCR. We also require applicants to have:

This is a full-time maternity cover role, commencing on 5th January 2027., We have Generous Terms and Conditions (Sixth Form College's Association style terms and conditions) including 13 weeks holiday (195 days in College).
