Job summary

The Manchester College, part of the LTE Group, is recruiting a Computing Teacher to join the City Campus Manchester. This permanent, full‑time role (35 hours per week) will engage learners with technology, digital skills and industry links.

You will be supported by our Teaching Academy to progress towards qualified teacher status, with mentoring and training provided. The college offers generous benefits and opportunities to develop within a leading FE provider.

Qualifications

  • Certificate of Education or PGCE.
  • Current and valid industry specialism.
  • Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation).
  • Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
  • English and maths minimum level 2 Grade C or grade 4 and above.
  • Significant Experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Proven track record of high‑quality teaching in delivering subject specialism or current valid industry specialism.
  • Working as a team and meeting delivery targets and plans.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity at our City Campus Manchester to join our Business, Computing and Digital Industries Department as a Computing Teacher on a permanent, full‑time (35 hours per week) basis.

We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post 16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3‑4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work. The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between £30,750 – £32,931*. It’s a great way to kick‑start a rewarding career with full training and support. Once you’ve successfully qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you’ll progress to the qualified teacher salary banding.

*Consideration will be given to relevant industry experience and skills with the flexibility to offer increased starting salaries in some circumstances*.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate of education or PGCE.
