Job summary

West Hatch School is seeking an enthusiastic computer science teacher to deliver OCR CS at KS4 and KS5. The role emphasizes developing engaging lessons, planning across key stages, and building strong student relationships.

A commitment to safeguarding and high standards is expected, with support for workload well-being and professional development. The post is full-time and permanent, with immediate start and interviews to be arranged.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching OCR Computer Science at KS4 and KS5.
• In-depth knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C++, SQL, Java.
• Suitable for an experienced practitioner or an Early Career Teacher (ECT).

• Develop, plan and deliver effective and high-quality learning experiences to all students across all key stages.

The computer science department has 4 dedicated rooms with 20-30 computers. The department currently offers OCR Computer Science at KS4 and KS5, as well as OCR Cambridge Advanced Nationals at KS5. Experience of teaching these specifications is desirable as well as any teacher with an in depth knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C++, SQL, JAVA etc

We are looking for someone who believes in building strong relationships with students and is willing to go the extra mile to support them in being successful both in and outside of school. You would be expected to develop, plan and deliver effective and high-quality learning experiences to all students across all key stages. The post is suitable for an experienced practitioner or an ECT teacher.
