Job description

Northampton, NORHAMPTONSHIRE, United Kingdom

About the School-Quinton House
Quinton is a beautiful school on the edge of Northampton and is surrounded by 31 acres of parkland. Our students are polite, engaging and we are on a mission to lead the way.

The school is a family and we work hard to ensure our students have the very best holistic education. The parents deserve a wonderful experience as they place their trust in us to educate and develop the character of their children.

The school has three buildings that house our Prep, Senior and Sixth Form students. The buildings range from grade one listed to old stable blocks and a state of the art sports hall, truly marrying up the old and the new. The school refuses to stand still and is always working on being better for all those who work and study there. We are a team, aligned and focused on our service, seeking a new member of the family.

The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teacher of Chemistry to join our fantastic team.

About Cognita
Cognita is a global leader in independent education. Founded in 2004, we are a growing community of 100+ schools in 16 countries - in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East - serving more than 85,000 students. Each of our schools are proudly unique, however our collective purpose is to create an environment where everyone can, ‘Thrive in a rapidly evolving world’.

At Cognita, we know every student is unique. We nurture their distinct personalities and strengths. We support them academically, socially, and emotionally, wherever they are in the world, wherever they’re starting from. And each and every one of our schools is unique too.

We protect what’s special about them, while offering them rich knowledge, opportunities, and best practices. And they get to be part of something bigger. We open their classrooms to the collective wisdom of over 100 schools in 16 countries, ensuring every child gets an education that’s, quite literally, world class.

It’s an individual approach that empowers every school, teacher and student to focus on what they do best and thrive.

About the role
As a Teacher of Chemistry, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring and developing young minds through the delivery of a rich and engaging science curriculum. You will be responsible for teaching Chemistry across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, using creative and differentiated approaches that support the progress of all learners. You will be expected to plan and teach well-structured lessons, monitor student progress through assessment, and implement interventions where necessary to ensure every student reaches their full potential. You will contribute actively to the wider life of the school, participating in initiatives that promote personal and academic growth, including character education and the school’s STEAM vision. As a key member of the science department, you will collaborate with colleagues, share best practices, and support a positive, inclusive, and ambitious learning environment. Safeguarding is central to everything we do, and you will play your part in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all students.

This is a full-time, permanent role with September 2025 start date.
