An exciting opportunity to join the college's Business, Travel, and Health department as a Teacher of Business. The role involves supporting academic progression, achievement, and establishing industry links with stakeholders. The department offers vocational courses from level 1 to level 3, including launching T-level Management and Administration in September 2024. Preference is given to applicants experienced in delivering BTEC Business courses at levels 1-3, with industry experience in finance, marketing, or human resources encouraged.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and deliver engaging lessons aligned with college standards and current industry knowledge.
Proven record of teaching advanced levels, particularly Level 3 BTEC courses, and experience with the personalized learning agenda and assessment for learning strategies. Experience in extracurricular activities, university application support, and successful course development is desirable.
Participate in college processes, adhere to policies, and work flexibly. Promote student welfare and teach courses according to timetable. Support students' learning, assess progress, maintain records, and contribute to quality assurance. Develop schemes of work, prepare resources, and stay informed about developments in the subject area. Collaborate with other departments and undertake administrative tasks as directed.
Deliver up to level 3 curriculum, participate in enrichment activities, and potentially teach another subject. The college offers generous terms, including 13 weeks holiday, early finish on Fridays, free parking, wellbeing resources, and a pension scheme with a 28.68% employer contribution.
