All teachers are required to carry out the professional duties and responsibilities of a school teacher as defined by ‘Teachers’ Standards’ and set out in the current ‘School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document’.

THE MATHS DEPARTMENT

Mathematics is a thriving, well‑resourced department at The Matthew Arnold School, and we are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements. This summer, our year 11 students achieved outstanding GCSE results, reflecting the hard work, high expectations, and collaborative spirit of the whole team.

Our department is a supportive and forward‑thinking team of specialists who share planning, resources, and expertise. You will have access to a well‑developed curriculum, high‑quality teaching materials and assessments, and the time and support to keep developing your own practice. As part of Bourne Education Trust, you will also be able to collaborate with maths colleagues across the wider network.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher of maths who shares our passion for the subject and our belief that every student can succeed in mathematics. The successful candidate will be able to make abstract mathematical ideas clear, accessible, and meaningful for learners of all abilities. They will use clear modelling, carefully chosen representations and well‑sequenced practice to build secure understanding, while stretching and challenging our most able mathematicians.

If you are ambitious for your students, love teaching maths and want to be part of a successful team, we would love to hear from you.
