SEN Teacher – Special Needs School (South Harrow)
Start Date: September 2025
Location: South Harrow
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time | Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Job Overview

A welcoming and well-resourced special needs school in South Harrow is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teacher to join in September 2025. The school caters to students aged 5 to 16, all working at a learning level up to Lower Key Stage 2. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a supportive environment where each child is encouraged to excel academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities
  1. Plan and deliver personalised lessons tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  2. Create a structured and nurturing classroom environment.
  3. Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistent and meaningful support for each learner.
Candidate Requirements
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience supporting children with ASD and SEMH.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a flexible, compassionate approach.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to a diverse range of abilities.
  • Experience with communication systems such as Makaton and PECS is advantageous but not essential.
