Job summary

Harrogate College is seeking a Joinery Teacher with site joinery experience to join the Construction Department in Harrogate. You will teach predominantly site joinery and support learners in developing practical skills aligned to industry needs.

The role involves planning engaging lessons, delivering essential knowledge, and driving learner progression in a busy, well-equipped workshop environment. A Level 3 Joinery and Level 5 teaching qualification (or progress toward) are expected, with

  • Hold a minimum of Level 3 in Joinery or equivalent.
  • Experience in site joinery.
  • Level 5 Teaching Qualification, or willingness to work towards within a given timeframe.
  • Knowledge and experience within education is desirable.
  • Have a positive, "can do" approach.
  • Be able to engage with young people.
  • Have the ability to multi-task.
  • Can work both individually and as part of a team.

  • You will be responsible for the retention, achievement, and positive progression rates for identified courses in your area.

  • Develop creative learning materials for learners.

About The Role

Harrogate College are recruiting for a Joinery Teacher with site joinery experience to join the already successful Construction Department in Harrogate.

We welcome applications from candidates that have industry experience and are looking to move into a teaching career.

The Construction Department boast industry-standard workshops.

You will be joining the established joinery team to teach predominantly site joinery.

What You Will Do
