4 Teaching Assistants required Communication and Interaction Resource Base (C&IRB)
Location: Secondary School, Thame, Oxfordshire
Hours: 37 hours a week
Rate of Pay: £13.47 per hour
Contract Type: Immediate Start (Full-time preferred, part-time considered)
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS required

We are seeking up to four Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team supporting children with Special Educational Needs in the Communication and Interaction Resource Base (C&IRB) attached to our mainstream secondary school. This is a vital role to help ensure high-quality provision and pupil support, particularly over the exam period.

Purpose of the Role:
To support students with communication and interaction differences (including Autism Spectrum Disorders) by: Maximising independence, Fostering wellbeing, Promoting learning and success, Enabling inclusion in all aspects of school life

You will work under the guidance of specialist teachers, supporting students both in mainstream lessons and in tailored interventions delivered within the Resource Base.

Key Responsibilities:
  • work with Students

  • Assist with specialist interventions and personal care as needed
  • Support social interaction during unstructured times and extracurricular activities
  • Represent the specialist team during mainstream lessons and school trips
  • Support the Resource Base
  • Engage in meetings and communicate effectively with staff and families
Person Specification:
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grades A C)
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs, especially Autism and Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  • A calm, flexible, and responsive approach to supporting young people
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
