Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Band 4 TB Support Worker to support TB treatment in community and clinic settings. You will work closely with TB Specialist Nurses and the MDT to provide patient-centred care for adults and children, including latent TB monitoring, DOT when required, and education on infection control.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use, with sponsorship not available for this post.

Qualifications

• Full, valid UK driving licence with access to a car for work purposes.

Responsibilities

• Support monitoring of treatment for people with Latent TB Infection.
• Assist TB Specialist Nurses in management of active TB cases.
• Provide admin and clinical support to the TB nursing team.
• Help deliver a comprehensive and responsive TB service to patients and families.
• Deliver Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) where required.
• Educate patients, families and carers about TB, treatment and infection control.
• Assist with contact tracing and follow-up in community settings.
• Monitor patient progress and report concerns to the clinical team.
• Maintain confidential patient records in line with policy.
• Undertake home visits with the TB CNS.
• Carry out phlebotomy procedures as trained.
