Job Description

Radius has grown rapidly at a time when tax requirements have become more complex and reporting more onerous (e.g. VIDA, real‑time reporting). The group has tax compliance responsibilities for over 80 legal entities across the UK, Europe, Asia and US. We are seeking a Tax Trainee to join our in‑house Tax Compliance team.

The Tax Compliance team is responsible for ensuring the group meets its tax compliance obligations accurately, timely and efficiently across all jurisdictions in which it operates. The team manages the preparation, review and submission of VAT, GST, sales tax, corporate income tax, withholding tax and other tax returns, while maintaining robust controls to ensure compliance with local tax legislation and reporting requirements. We also work closely with external advisors to manage overseas direct tax compliance, ensuring corporate tax returns and associated filings are prepared and submitted accurately and on time.

We work closely with the business and the Direct and Indirect Tax Advisory teams to ensure the correct tax treatment of transactions, support tax authority enquiries and audits, identify and mitigate compliance risks, and drive process improvement and automation initiatives. The team plays a key role in safeguarding the Group's tax position by ensuring compliance obligations are met, risks are effectively managed, and opportunities for operational efficiency are identified and realised.

The role will involve learning across both corporate tax and indirect tax to build knowledge and understanding in both areas, while developing a strong foundation in tax compliance, systems, and data.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, an analytical mindset, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

The role requires the individual to undertake study towards a professional tax qualification (ATT/CTA)

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with data gathering and preparation for corporate tax computations and returns across UK and overseas entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of supporting information
  • Support the coordination and preparation of PBC (Provided by Client) requests for external tax advisers, including:
    • Tracking outstanding items
    • Liaising with internal stakeholders to obtain required data
    • Ensuring timely and accurate submission
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring the direct tax compliance calendar, ensuring all deadlines for filings and payments are clearly tracked and met
  • Support the preparation and calculation of Corporate Tax Payments on Account (POAs) across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring calculations are accurate and appropriately documented
  • Assist with monthly withholding tax (WHT) calculations, reporting, and filings, ensuring compliance with local regulations
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of other direct tax filings (e.g. disclosures, or regulatory filings where applicable)
  • Work collaboratively with both internal finance teams and external tax advisers, building strong working relationships and ensuring effective communication
  • Provide support during tax audits, enquiries, or authority queries, including data gathering, reconciliation, and preparation of supporting documentation
  • Use a range of accounting and ERP systems (e.g. Sage X3, NetSuite, Xero, Sage 200) to extract, analyse, and validate financial data
  • Support data reconciliation and validation processes, ensuring consistency between financial records and tax reporting outputs
  • Contribute to maintaining clear audit trails and supporting documentation for all compliance processes
  • Adhere to and support the continued development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal controls
  • Ensure all work is delivered accurately and on time, meeting internal deadlines, compliance requirements, and professional standards
  • Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will be expected to study towards a professional tax qualification (ATT/CTA)
  • Strong academic background, particularly in numerical or analytical subjects (e.g. Maths, Business, Economics)
  • Good attention to detail and an ability to work accurately with numbers
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Comfortable using IT systems, including Microsoft Excel
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and develop
  • Basic understanding of business or accounting concepts (helpful but not essential)
  • Familiarity with finance or accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Sage X3, Sage 200, NetSuite, Xero) would be beneficial, but full training will be provided
