Senior Manager

EY’s Financial Services (FS) Tax practice is the largest such practice in the UK, renowned for sector expertise and trusted adviser relationships across clients including global financial institutions, market-leading boutiques, new market entrants, and disruptors.

The opportunity

EY's Private Capital Team advises the Wealth and Asset Management sector with specialists across multiple alternative asset classes such as hedge funds, private equity funds, credit funds, and real estate. Our clients include UK-based businesses, US inbound, and established UK, European, and global asset managers. We aim to grow significantly in these areas, offering opportunities for exceptional candidates.

We also advise principals of these firms and provide personal tax compliance and advisory services, including cross-border tax advisory and transactional support through our international network.

We seek Tax Senior Managers with advisory experience in asset management, international fund structuring, and UK corporate tax issues to meet our growth plans.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. Leading delivery of complex UK and international tax advisory projects.
2. Driving growth in asset management and private capital markets.
3. Building and maintaining client relationships through exceptional service.
4. Supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff to develop talent.
5. Managing team strategy, operations, and staff development.

Skills And Attributes For Success

1. Proven experience leading complex tax advice for asset management clients, including international matters.
2. Primary client contact and trusted advisor experience.
3. Ability to independently win and grow client relationships.
4. Strong knowledge of advising asset managers, fund formation, acquisitions, disposals, reorganisations, and structures.
5. Client-focused with pragmatic, solution-oriented advice.
6. Business development skills to identify and pursue opportunities.
7. Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
8. Ensuring quality work and leading delivery teams.

Minimum Qualifications

1. ACA / CTA / Tax Inspectors qualification, Law qualification, or equivalent.
2. Strong technical tax skills.
3. Initiative, professionalism, and confidence.
4. Experience coaching and developing junior staff.
5. Eligibility to work in the UK.
6. Asset management tax advisory experience within an accounting or law firm.
