Michael Page is seeking a Tax Senior for a well-established Bath-based independent firm of Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers. You will manage a varied portfolio of tax clients, combining compliance with advisory work.

The role offers a supportive culture, opportunities to develop technical expertise, and exposure to Income Tax, CGT and IHT. You will work with HMRC, explain tax matters clearly to clients, and play a key part in business growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in tax within an accountancy practice.
• Proven experience preparing personal tax returns.
• Sound technical knowledge across taxation matters.
• Exposure to tax planning or advisory assignments.
• Confident in managing client relationships and workloads.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain taxation clearly and practically.

Responsabilités

• Managing a portfolio of tax clients and developing relationships.
• Preparing and submitting personal and partnership tax returns.
• Supporting clients with personal and business tax matters.
• Assisting with tax planning across Income Tax, CGT and IHT.
• Identifying opportunities to improve clients' tax efficiency.
• Assisting with HMRC enquiries and investigations.
• Keeping up to date with changing tax legislation and communicating developments.
• Acting as a key point of contact and explaining taxation matters to clients.
• Working with accounting and other specialists to provide integrated solutions.
• Contributing to more complex tax assignments as experience develops.
