Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to help build a global tax function for a fast-growing technology company. The role spans multiple entities across the EMEA region and supports remote work with London as a possible base.

You will design and own tax processes, manage corporate tax and VAT filings, and collaborate with external advisers on transfer pricing and audits while leveraging technology to enhance data and controls.

Qualifications

• Full accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and tax advisor (CTA, ADIT or equivalent) qualifications.
• 3-5 years of relevant tax experience, ideally in Big 4/Top 10 or multinational in-house tax team.
• Strong academic background and exposure to global tax considerations.

Responsibilities

• Manage preparation and review of corporate tax, VAT, and other tax returns for entities.
• Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and tax planning initiatives with external advisers.
• Serve as point of contact for tax authority audits and inquiries with external support.
• Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes with technology and automation.
• Manage tax provisioning and reporting under IFRS, including effective tax rates and disclosures.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations to ensure cross-functional alignment.
• Monitor regional tax legislation changes and assess impact on the company.
