Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to design and own our cross‑border tax processes. You will work with the CFO to manage corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and tax provisioning while coordinating with external advisers and tax authorities.

The role focuses on building a scalable tax function for a fast‑growing software business, with remote work across the EMEA region or an office in London. International travel is expected 2–4 times a year.

Qualifications

• MBA? (not required)
• Must hold ACA/ACCA/CIMA and CTA/ADIT qualifications.
• 3–5 years of tax experience in multinational context.
• Strong English communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate tax, VAT, and other tax returns for entities.
• Coordinate transfer pricing documentation with advisers and implement plans.
• Act as main contact for tax authority audits with advisers.
• Improve tax processes and data management using technology/automation.
• Oversee IFRS tax provisioning and related disclosures.
• Collaborate with finance, legal and operations on tax matters.
• Monitor regional tax law changes and assess impacts.
