RMT Accountants & Business Advisors Ltd, now part of Sumer Group, is seeking a Tax Senior to service a varied portfolio of personal tax clients in Newcastle.

You will prepare Self-Assessment returns, P11D forms, CGT computations and in-year CGT on UK property, advise on IHT and Income Tax, communicate with HMRC, and coach junior staff; ATT qualification (or part-qualified) is required, with training on CCH provided.

Qualifications

• ATT qualification (or part-qualified) or qualified by experience.
• Proven experience within a similar role in personal tax.
• Strong technical expertise in personal tax, partnership tax and Capital Gains Tax (CGT).
• Experience coaching and training junior team members.
• CCH software familiarity preferred; training provided.

Responsabilités

• Preparing Self-Assessment personal tax returns efficiently and accurately.

• Preparing Capital Gains Tax computations and in-year CGT on UK Property returns.

• Ad-hoc assistance with tax queries and projects.

We're currently looking for a Tax Senior to work with a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, from sole traders to directors of owner managed businesses, with the opportunity to work with larger more complex clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing Self-Assessment personal tax returns efficiently and accurately
• Preparing P11D forms, advising on benefits in kind and preparing PAYE Settlement Agreements
• Preparing Capital Gains Tax computations and in year CGT on UK Property returns.
• Communicating with colleagues from other departments, clients, and HMRC by telephone, email, and in writing where required
• Ad-hoc assistance with tax queries and projects

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• ATT qualification (or part-qualified) or qualified by experience
• Proven experience within a similar role
• Strong technical expertise in personal tax, partnership tax and Capital Gains Tax
• Experience in coaching and training junior members of the team
• Proficiency in CCH is preferred, but not essential as full training and support will be provided
• Sound tax advisory knowledge in owner managed businesses covering IHT, CGT, Income Tax and Company Tax issues would be preferred but is not essential
