Job summary

Moore Thompson, part of the Sumer Group, seeks a Tax Senior to handle a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, from sole traders to owner-managed businesses, with potential to work with larger, more complex clients. Based in the East of England, you’ll deliver Self-Assessment returns, CGT computations and advise on IHT, Income Tax and Company Tax issues.

Qualifications

• ATT qualification (or part-qualified) or qualified by experience.
• Proven experience within a similar role.
• Strong technical expertise in personal tax, partnership tax and Capital Gains Tax.
• Experience in coaching and training junior members of the team.
• Proficiency in CCH is preferred, but not essential as full training and support will be provided.
• Sound tax advisory knowledge in owner managed businesses covering IHT, CGT, Income Tax and Company Tax issues would be preferred but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Preparing Self-Assessment personal tax returns efficiently and accurately
• Preparing P11D forms, advising on benefits in kind and preparing PAYE Settlement Agreements
• Preparing Capital Gains Tax computations and in year CGT on UK Property returns.
• Communicating with colleagues from other departments, clients, and HMRC by telephone, email, and in writing where required
• Ad-hoc assistance with tax queries and projects
