Job summary

Forvis Mazars in the UK is offering a School Leaver Apprentice role within the Tax Reporting team. You will learn how tax connects to financial performance while studying towards ACA/CTA qualifications, supported by a funded program and hands-on client work.

You’ll contribute to tax reporting, calculations and communications across diverse clients, from owner-managed businesses to multinationals, with progression to advisory projects as you grow.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English Language at Grade 4/C (or equivalent qualifications).
• Achieved or predicted a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points from top three A Levels, BTECs, Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers, or other recognised Level 3 qualifications.
• Willing to study towards ACA/CTA qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Work on Tax Reporting to help businesses understand, calculate and report their tax obligations accurately, meet tax requirements and clearly report tax in their financial statements.
• Prepare corporation tax computations, tax returns and supporting schedules using client financial information.
• Analyse accounts, financial statements and tax data to understand how a client’s business operates and identify key tax reporting requirements.
• Use tax software, spreadsheets and digital tools to organise data, check accuracy, spot issues and support efficient reporting processes.
• Research changes in UK tax legislation and help summarise what they mean for clients in a clear, practical and commercially focused way.
• Support client communications by gathering information, responding to queries and contributing to reports, emails and meeting preparation.
• Work with specialists across tax, audit and advisory teams to understand wider client issues and contribute to joined-up solutions.
• Take on increasing responsibility as you progress, moving from supporting compliance work to managing tasks, building client relationships and contributing to advisory projects.
