Job description

Your New Company

This is a rare opportunity to take on a genuine Partner-level position with the freedom to influence how the role and tax offering develop. You'll be joining an ambitious firm where growth, collaboration and doing things differently are encouraged. Rather than inheriting a tightly prescribed portfolio, there is the opportunity to bring your own strengths, relationships and ideas and make a real impact on the business. For an experienced Director considering their route to Partnership, this also presents an opportunity to have a confidential conversation about what that progression could look like.

Your new role

As Tax Partner, you'll take a leading role in growing and developing the tax offering across Scotland, combining high-level client advisory work with relationship development, market engagement and leadership.

The firm is deliberately open-minded about tax specialism. Personal Tax and Corporate Tax experience are particularly attractive, although strong senior professionals from other tax disciplines will also be considered where they can bring technical expertise, commercial credibility and the ability to develop senior client relationships.

You’ll work closely with business owners, privately owned and entrepreneurial businesses and senior stakeholders, providing strategic tax advice while identifying opportunities to develop relationships and introduce clients to the wider capabilities of the firm.

This is an opportunity to help shape and grow the tax proposition rather than step into a narrowly defined Partner remit. You'll have scope to build your market, develop existing and new relationships and play an influential role in the continued growth of the business in Scotland.

What You'll Need To Succeed

You’ll be an experienced tax professional operating at Partner or Director level, or a senior leader with the credibility and ambition to make the move into Partnership.

While Corporate Tax or Personal Tax would be the preferred background, the firm is interested in the individual first and will consider strong candidates from across the tax market.

You’ll combine strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior clients. You’ll be comfortable identifying opportunities, winning work, developing a network and representing the firm externally.

Most importantly, you’ll bring the entrepreneurial mindset and ambition to help develop a growing tax business and strengthen its presence across the Scottish market.

What You’ll Get In Return

This is a rare opportunity to take on a genuine Partner-level position with the scope to influence how both the role and the wider tax offering develop.

You’ll join an ambitious and collaborative business where you can bring your own strengths, relationships and ideas and make a tangible impact.

For an established Director who feels ready for partnership but may not have a clear route where they currently are, this could also provide a particularly interesting opportunity to explore that next step.
