Armstrong Watson LLP in Leeds is seeking a Tax Compliance Assistant to join our Tax Service Line. You will enter tax information, support with complex areas, and help with client reminders while reporting HMRC notices.

ATT preferred; a UK driving licence is required; experience in an accounting/tax compliance role is useful, and you will work in a fast-paced, supportive team with opportunities for CPD and career growth within a values-driven firm.

Qualifications

• ATT qualified (desirable) but "Qualified by Experience" candidates will also be considered for this position.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience of working in an Accounting /Tax Compliance capacity at an Accountancy Practice.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
• A dedicated team player and willing to assist colleagues within the team where possible.
• Able to prioritise workloads under strict deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Able to use initiatives and have great organisation/problem solving skills.
• Keen to become part of a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Being responsible for entering tax information into the relevant sections of our Tax software ready for review by a Tax Compliance Manager.
• Assisting with complex areas within their portfolio, including Profit Sharing, Farmers Averaging Claims, CGT computations etc.
• Sending reminders to clients for required / missing information.
• Reporting any HMRC compliance enquiry notices to the Tax Compliance Manager.
• Providing support and training on Tax data entry to Tax Compliance Trainees.
