We’re looking for a Tax Compliance Assistant to join an established team in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with opportunities to work across other regional offices. This permanent role will give you hands-on experience across a varied portfolio of tax compliance work, while developing your technical knowledge and professional skills.
If you have experience in tax compliance, practice accounting or tax support and are ready to take your career forward, this could be an excellent next move.
As a Tax Compliance Assistant, you’ll play an important role within the wider Tax Service Line, supporting the accurate and efficient delivery of client tax compliance work. You’ll be responsible for entering tax information into specialist software, preparing client records for review by the Tax Compliance Manager.
You’ll also support more complex areas of the portfolio, including Profit Sharing, Farmers’ Averaging Claims and Capital Gains Tax computations, while liaising with clients to obtain any outstanding information. Alongside this, you’ll identify and report HMRC compliance enquiry notices and provide guidance and training to Tax Compliance Trainees on tax data entry processes.
The successful candidate will ideally be ATT qualified, although candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered. You’ll have previous experience working in an accounting or tax compliance role within an accountancy practice, ideally in a similar position, alongside a full UK driving licence.
You’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with strong organisation and problem-solving skills and the confidence to use your own initiative. A collaborative approach is essential, as you’ll work closely with colleagues while managing competing priorities, meeting strict deadlines and maintaining a high standard of accuracy under pressure.
