Job summary

TC Group is offering a 12-month Tax Placement in our Lewes office, starting July/August 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in personal, partnership, trust and corporate tax compliance and advisory work within a structured learning environment.

You will assist in preparing various tax returns, review accounts for compliance, liaise with HMRC, and support the team with deadlines and admin tasks. This placement targets undergraduates studying relevant courses with a strong interest in Tax.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Genuine interest in a future career in Tax.
• A-Levels/BTEC/T-Level required; university course in Accounting/Finance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing personal, partnership, trust and corporate tax returns for a variety of clients.
• Assist on capital gains tax returns.
• Review accounts to ensure compliance with current tax legislation.
• Support tax team with submissions and deadlines; assist with advisory work.
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.
• Assist with administrative tasks and marketing initiatives.

Salary: In line with National Living Wage

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us on a Tax Placement in our Lewes office for 12 months commencing July/August 2027.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to experience the role of a Tax Accountant first hand from our award nominated team of experts. You will have the opportunity to gain insights into personal and corporate tax compliance and advisory work within a structured and supportive learning environment.

What you can expect on a tax placement:

• To assist in the preparation of personal, partnership, trust and corporate tax returns and computations for a variety of clients
• Assist on capital gains tax returns
• Reviewing accounts to ensure that clients are compliant with current tax legislation
• Assist the tax team with various submissions and payment deadlines throughout the year and senior members of the team with tax advisory work
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
• Assist with administrative tasks and marketing initiatives

What We're Looking For

• A-Levels/BTEC/T-Level qualifications
• Studying a relevant course at University, Accountancy & Finance related is preferred but other courses will be considered
• Proficient use of Microsoft applications
