Job summary

TC Group in Lewes is offering a 12-month Tax Placement commencing July/August 2027. The role provides hands-on experience in personal, partnership, trust and corporate tax returns within a supportive, learning-focused team.

You will assist on tax compliance and advisory tasks, liaising with HMRC, and gain exposure to advisory work while developing planning and organisational skills in a growing Top 20 accountancy firm with a strong people-first culture.

Qualifications

• Studying a relevant course at University; Accounting & Finance related preferred.
• Proficient use of Microsoft applications.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Genuine interest in a career in Tax.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of personal, partnership, trust and corporate tax returns and computations for a variety of clients.
• Assist on capital gains tax returns.
• Review accounts to ensure that clients are compliant with current tax legislation.
• Assist with submissions and payment deadlines throughout the year and with tax advisory work.
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.
• Assist with administrative tasks and marketing initiatives.

Salary: In line with National Living Wage

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week

Holiday: 20 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us on a Tax Placement in our Lewes office for 12 months commencing July/August 2027.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to experience the role of a Tax Accountant first hand from our award nominated team of experts. You will have the opportunity to gain insights into personal and corporate tax compliance and advisory work within a structured and supportive learning environment.

What you can expect on a tax placement:

• To assist in the preparation of personal, partnership, trust and corporate tax returns and computations for a variety of clients
• Assist on capital gains tax returns
• Reviewing accounts to ensure that clients are compliant with current tax legislation
• Assist the tax team with various submissions and payment deadlines throughout the year and senior members of the team with tax advisory work
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
• Assist with administrative tasks and marketing initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Studying a relevant course at University, Accountancy & Finance related is preferred but other courses will be considered
• Proficient use of Microsoft applications
• Able to work independently on your own initiative as well as part of a team
• Ability to build effective working relationships
• Professional and a positive work ethic

Recruitment process

We will be holding telephone interviews and face to face interviews for this recruitment, the dates for these are as follows:

Closing date – 31 st January 2027

Telephone interview dates – Anticipated w/c 15 th and 22 nd February 2027

Face to Face Interviews – Planned for early March
