Eight Tax and Accountancy invites applications for a Tax & Accountancy Apprentice in Whiteley. This role offers hands-on experience while working towards a professional qualification, with a modern, supportive firm culture.

You’ll assist in preparing financial statements, tax returns, VAT, and client onboarding, while benefiting from hybrid working and company support toward AAT/ACCA/ACA qualifications.

Qualifications

• Interest in developing a career in accountancy and tax.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Xero or other accounting software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Support corporation tax and personal tax returns.
• Help with VAT returns and bookkeeping records.
• Manage Companies House filings (confirmation statements, director changes, etc.).
• Assist with client onboarding, AML checks and engagement letters.
• Communicate with clients and handle day-to-day queries.
• Gain exposure to tax planning, business start-ups and advisory work.
• Liaise with HMRC and third parties on behalf of clients.
