Job summary

Cornwall Council seeks a Youth Support Worker to join the Child & Families Service. This role involves working closely with young people, providing support through one-on-one sessions and assessments to help them build resilience and independence. Job Description

The Service & Team:

This 6 month fixed term post sits within the Child & Families Service and is based with the Caradon Early Help Team, this team covers Liskeard, Callington and Saltash

The Role

This involves working with young people who have been referred directly into our Service via the Early Help Hub/MARU or from our Social Work teams. Youth Support Workers will build a trusting relationship with young people and complete 1-2-1 direct work. Youth Workers will be expected to complete an holistic assessment and SMART Plan of action to support the young person & their families. We are looking for people who share our commitment to offer the best possible support to young people to help them build their resilience and independence

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern

Working hours are Monday to Friday primarily 8.45am to 5.15pm with some flexibility for work outside of these hours

What You’ll Need To Succeed

This is an opportunity for an experienced Worker with a track record of effective intervention with children and young people. You will be able to evidence your learning and practice and how this has positively impacted on the lives of children.

You will need to hold a JNC Qualification or equivalent in Youth and Community Work, or significant experience of delivering community based or targeted youth work
