Job summary

Quest Waste Management is seeking an experienced Tanker Driver to join our team in Wakefield/Ossett on a Saturday–Sunday shift. You will safely transport liquid waste and ensure compliance with regulations and company procedures.

Role involves operating jetting and suction tankers, responding to emergencies, recording job details, and maintaining PPE. Requires valid HGV licence (Class 1 or 2), Tachograph and CPC cards. Training available and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 license with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Tachograph card and Driver CPC card are required.
• Experience operating tankers is advantageous; training can be provided.
• Willingness to learn additional skills aligned with company growth.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate jetting and suction tankers (specialist units) as trained.
• Respond to emergency call-outs for blockages, flooding, and pollution.
• Collect and dispose of controlled and liquid waste in compliance with regulations.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle checks for compliance.
• Accurately record all job details and documentation.
• Ensure PPE is in good condition and used correctly.
• Be flexible to assist other teams when vehicle is off-road.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tanker Driver to join our team based in Ossett, working a Saturday – Sunday shift pattern.

In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of liquid waste, ensuring full compliance with industry regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a range of specialist jetting and suction tankers, including Super Suction Jetting Tankers, Combination Jetting Tankers, and vacuum tankers following appropriate training.
• Respond to emergency call-outs, addressing sewer blockages, flooding, and pollution incidents.
• Handle the collection and safe disposal of controlled and liquid waste in compliance with regulations.
• Adhere to statutory health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Conduct pre-and post-shift vehicle checks to ensure operational compliance.
• Accurately record all job details and maintain proper documentation.
• Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) is in good condition and fit for use.
• Be adaptable and willing to take on additional duties when your vehicle is off the road or when support is needed for other field teams.

Essential

• Possession of a valid HGV Class 1 OR 2 driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
• Tachograph card (required)
• Driver CPC Card (required)
• Experience operating tankers is advantageous; training can be provided Training or demonstrated competency in areas such as high-pressure jetting, first aid, and manual handling
• Prepared to learn new skills and undertake new activities in line with company growth and personal development with research
