The primary objective of this role is to safely operate vacuum tankers for collecting and transporting sewage sludge between Severn Trent Services (STS) sites. The operator must comply with road transport legislation, STS policies, and actively participate in meetings such as Comm Cells and Team Meetings.
Some key responsibilities include:
You must hold at least a class 2 license; additional training will be provided. You should be able to operate vacuum tankers and associated equipment safely, access vehicle cabs, sites, and offices using correct procedures (e.g., 3 points of contact), and manipulate flexible pipework (up to 5” diameter) safely using manual handling techniques.
You’ll be able to work unsupervised in all weather conditions, utilizing correct PPE and lone worker systems. The ability to risk assess site access and working conditions upon arrival is essential. The role requires full MoD (SC) security clearance, which we will support you in obtaining.
