Job description

We are currently seeking a Tanker Driver who will report directly to the Transport Manager and will be responsible for the professional and efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of customers’ waste, while adhering to health and safety and other company procedures.

The role holder will be responsible for the professional and efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of customers’ waste, reporting directly to the Transport Manager.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Drive and operate vehicles as directed by the traffic office and operations manager, ensuring efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of waste.
2. Adhere to company processes and procedures, including health and safety protocols, promoting safe practices and reporting near misses.
3. Perform routine vehicle checks accurately and promptly, reporting defects as needed.
4. Complete all paperwork, including daily timesheets, accurately and on time.
5. Provide cover for sickness, breakdowns, and holidays when necessary.
6. Attend training, meetings, and toolbox talks to keep skills and knowledge up to date.
7. Develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues and customers, delivering high levels of customer service.
8. Perform any other reasonable job-related tasks, including ad hoc duties.

Requirements

• Previous Class 1/2 driving experience
• DCPC certification

Education & Qualifications

• Class 1/2 LGV License

Skills and Behaviours

• Ability to safely maneuver LGVs into restricted and confined spaces
• Good organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Willingness to work away from home regularly, including nights in your cab
