Job summary

The Environmental & Engineering Group is hiring a Tanker Driver in Portsmouth for a full-time, permanent role. You will drive vacuum tankers, perform pumping, cleaning and servicing of tanks and ship systems while upholding safety standards.

Lead and organise staff on projects, complete documentation, and ensure compliance with waste management and health & safety regulations. ADR/CPC/HGV where applicable; apply with experience and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Holds a valid HGV licence, ADR (if applicable) and CPC.
• Experience with vacuum tankers and specialist tank cleaning.
• Knowledge of ship systems and confined space procedures.
• Able to work safely under pressure and maintain high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Drive vacuum tankers and perform pumping, servicing, cleaning of tanks and ship systems.
• Lead and organise staff on projects, ensuring quality standards and customer expectations.
• Complete documentation including customer sign-offs and maintain cleanliness on sites.
• Handle specialist cleaning, high pressure jet washing, confined space work when required.
• Ensure compliance with waste management regulations, tanker driver regulations, PPE and Health & Safety procedures.
• Liaise with customers and service engineers while upholding company standards.

Are you a skilled driver with a hands on attitude, ready to roll up your sleeves and make a real impact?

We’re on the lookout for a Tanker Driver to join our growing team.

More about the role:

• Drive vacuum tankers and carry out pumping, servicing, repair and cleaning of a wide range of tanks, bilges, compartments and ship systems
• Lead and organise staff on projects, ensuring all work meets company quality standards and customer expectations
• Complete all documentation accurately, including customer sign offs and maintain high cleanliness standards on customer sites
• Undertake specialist cleaning, high pressure jet washing, confined space work and fire sentry duties when required
• Ensure compliance with waste management regulations, tanker driver regulations, PPE requirements and all Health & Safety procedures
• Liaise with customers, support service engineers and uphold Marlin Environmental Services’ standards at all times

Qualifications

About you:

• Knowledge of ship systems is Preferable
• Experienced in operating vacuum tankers, pressure washers and pumping systems, with strong practical skills and confidence using hand tools
• Knowledgeable in confined space working, MAR pack procedures and specialist tank/bilge cleaning standards
• Good understanding of ship systems and able to differentiate between survey, hot work and preservation cleaning requirements
• Holds a valid HGV licence, ADR (if applicable) and CPC
• A strong team player with excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
• Reliable, safety focused, adaptable and able to maintain high attention to detail under pressure
