Nationwide is seeking a Talent Consultant to shape how we identify, develop and move talent. You will support talent reviews, succession planning and internal mobility with data-driven insights, collaborating across People and the wider business to improve processes.
You will contribute to career development initiatives and work with the Executive Resourcing team on senior attraction and hiring activity, while embracing flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
We have an opportunity to join our Talent Management team as Talent Consultant. This role will play a key role in shaping how we identify, develop and move talent across Nationwide. You’ll help deliver inclusive, data-led talent activity that strengthens succession pipelines, supports internal mobility and enables colleagues to grow their careers in line with the needs of the organisation.
The Talent Management team sits as part of Talent Management & Inclusion in the People Function. We’re responsible for providing inclusive talent management for all career stages enabling those at entry level, right through to those at a senior leadership level, the opportunity to reach their potential. We’re helping the organisation to build a future-ready workforce by creating the processes, insight and interventions that support talent identification, succession planning, career development and inclusive internal mobility.
As a Talent Consultant, you’ll support the delivery of talent and succession management activity. You’ll combine strong HR understanding, stakeholder engagement, data analysis and practical delivery skills to help shape and improve talent processes, deliver career development interventions that create value for colleagues and support the Executive Resourcing team in senior attraction and hiring activity.

The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll support the delivery and continuous improvement of inclusive talent management activity, helping to coordinate priorities, milestones, actions, dependencies and risks. This will include contributing to talent reviews, succession planning and targeted interventions that strengthen diverse internal talent pipelines.
You’ll also use talent data and insight to identify themes, inform decisions and improve processes, while helping to design and deliver career development propositions that support colleague growth and internal mobility. Working collaboratively with colleagues across People and the wider business, you’ll support effective delivery, identify issues early and elevate where decisions or trade-offs are needed.
You’ll also work closely with the Executive Resourcing team, supporting senior attraction and hiring activity by helping to coordinate key recruitment processes, prepare high-quality materials and ensure stakeholders have the information they need to support effective decision-making.
About you
We’re looking for someone with a strong grounding in HR; you’ll be comfortable working with people data, at pace whilst managing multiple priorities and engaging stakeholders with clear, practical communication.
Experience working in HR, People or Talent, with an understanding of talent management, succession planning and internal mobility, and how these processes help build diverse talent pipelines and strengthen organisational capability
Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, dependencies and stakeholder inputs
Confidence using data and insight to identify themes, highlight issues and support evidence-based recommendations
Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to engage colleagues and stakeholders in a confident, structured way
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate, well-structured outputs and quality check information
A proactive, collaborative approach, with curiosity to research, learn and bring fresh thinking to talent processes and initiatives demonstrating continuous improvement
Ability to adapt quickly to new systems, processes, tools and ways of working
