Job description

About Verto

At Verto, we're on a mission to democratise global finance and empower businesses in Emerging Markets to reach the world. Founded by British-Nigerian entrepreneurs Ola Oyetayo and Anthony Oduu, our roots in Africa provided a firsthand understanding of the significant challenges businesses face with cross-border payments, ranging from illiquid currencies and high fees to slow transactions. This deep-rooted insight is why Africa remains a core focus, as we're committed to bridging the gap between emerging and developed markets and fostering global economic growth.

What started as an FX solution for the Nigerian Naira has evolved into a market-leading platform, enabling thousands of businesses to seamlessly transfer billions of dollars annually. We believe that where you do business shouldn't determine your success or ability to scale. We're creating equal access to the easy payment and liquidity solutions that are already a given in developed markets.

We're not alone in realising this crucial need; we're backed by world-class investors including Y-Combinator, Quona, and MEVP. With Verto receiving the Milken-Motsepe Prize, appearing on CNBCs list of fastest growing UK companies, the Deloitte Fast 50 and Sifted’s fastest-growing UK tech companies, we are building a seamless cross-border payment future.

Join us as we continue to grow and transform global finance.

Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Talent Acquisition Manager to join our team in London. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering on key recruitment goals and scaling our talent acquisition efforts. You will own the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, partnering closely with hiring managers to attract top-tier talent across various teams. If you are passionate about candidate experience, data-driven hiring, and building talent-dense teams, this is the role for you.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead the full lifecycle recruitment for a diverse range of roles, ensuring a streamlined, efficient, and compliant hiring process from initial sourcing through to successful onboarding.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to thoroughly define role requirements, build ideal candidate profiles, and develop targeted recruitment strategies across global talent markets.
  • Implement sophisticated sourcing strategies to proactively identify and attract top-tier talent, expertly leveraging platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter, regional job boards, and specialized networks.
  • Leverage our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to efficiently manage all hiring workflows, maintain meticulous records, and ensure a seamless recruitment experience for all stakeholders.
  • Significantly reduce time-to-hire by strategically streamlining recruitment processes, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, and consistently delivering high-calibre candidates.
  • Proactively build and nurture a robust talent pipeline to effectively support both current and anticipated future hiring needs.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to hiring managers on best-practice interview techniques and comprehensive candidate assessment methods to elevate the overall quality of our hiring decisions.
  • Track recruitment metrics and use data-driven insights to continuously improve our strategy.
  • Design and implement a top-tier, positive candidate experience for all applicants from their first interaction through to their successful placement.
What You Need
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in talent acquisition, with a strong track record of successfully hiring for roles within fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • A strategic mindset with high agility in execution, deeply understanding how talent acquisition aligns with and drives overarching business success.
  • Sharp attention to detail and the analytical capability to identify operational pain points, track truly relevant recruitment metrics, and use those insights to optimize the hiring engine.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple open roles concurrently, consistently meet demanding deadlines, and drive high-quality hiring outcomes.
  • Hands‑on, in-depth experience managing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and utilizing modern recruitment tools like LinkedIn Recruiter and major job boards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external candidates.
  • A highly results-oriented mindset with a clear commitment to directly contributing to Verto's ambitious growth plans.
  • A university degree or equivalent professional experience.
Best If You Have
  • Direct experience using Ashby as your primary Applicant Tracking System.
  • Proven experience sourcing and successfully hiring in global markets with focus on emerging markets
  • Previous experience operating within a rapidly scaling fintech or B2B tech company.
