Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking a Recruitment & Talent Team Leader to lead and develop the Recruitment & Talent team. This fixed-term role (12 months) combines hands-on recruitment with people leadership to deliver an excellent, compliant recruitment service for managers, schools, candidates and external customers.

You will shape recruitment practices, drive improvements, and deliver innovative attraction and onboarding solutions to recruit and retain outstanding talent while supporting

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a recruitment, talent acquisition or HR team.
• Strong operational recruitment knowledge, including end-to-end processes.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, DBS, right to work and pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activity of the Recruitment & Talent team.
• Develop and coach team members to deliver a compliant, customer-focused service.
• Advise managers on recruitment, safeguarding, DBS, right to work and pre-employment checks.
• Support recruitment campaigns and workforce planning initiatives.
• Monitor performance and help the team meet service standards and deadlines.
• Improve recruitment and onboarding processes to enhance candidate and manager experience.
• Support audits and manage risks.
• Collaborate with HR & OD and GM to share best practices.
