Job summary

Veolia in Cannock is seeking a Recruitment Specialist on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (maternity cover) with a salary of £26,500–£30,000. Hybrid setup: 3 days in the office, 2 days work from home, located in Cannock (WS11 8JP).

You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, build candidate pools, and collaborate with hiring managers to deliver high‑quality hires for operational roles. Veolia offers benefits including pension, gym access, discounts, and wellbeing resources.

Qualifications

  • Experience in agency or in-house recruitment for operational/engineering/industrial roles.
  • Experience in high-volume recruitment with multiple vacancies.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships with hiring managers.
  • Sourcing through social platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, CV Library).
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems; Workday knowledge advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment from posting to offer.
  • Screen applications and create shortlists with strong candidate communication.
  • Utilise Workday ATS to progress activity and track hiring metrics.
  • Build talent pools and proactively headhunt for hard-to-fill roles.
  • Advise hiring managers on interviewing techniques and assessment methods.
  • Support job fairs and drive process improvements within Talent Acquisition.

12 Month Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover Salary: £26,500 - £30,000 plus Veolia benefits Location: Based in Cannock (WS11 8JP) with a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home. What You'll Be Doing
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process from job posting to offer, collaborating closely with hiring managers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver quality candidates
  • Screen applications and create shortlists of qualified candidates, while maintaining excellent candidate communications throughout to ensure a positive recruitment experience
  • Utilise and maintain the applicant tracking system (Workday) to progress recruitment activity and track key hiring metrics including time to hire, cost per hire and source of hire
  • Build and maintain talent pools for future requirements, proactively headhunting candidates through social platforms for hard-to-fill positions
  • Provide consultative advice to hiring managers on best practice interviewing techniques and assessment methods to support effective decision-making
  • Host and participate in job fairs and support continuous improvement projects within the Talent Acquisition team to enhance recruitment processes and outcomes
What We're Looking For
  • Previous recruitment experience in either agency or in-house environments, with preference for candidates who have recruited for operational, engineering or industrial roles
  • Demonstrated experience in high-volume recruitment environments with the ability to manage multiple vacancies simultaneously while maintaining quality standards
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with hiring managers and business partners
  • Proficiency in candidate sourcing and headhunting techniques across social platforms including LinkedIn, Indeed and CV Library.
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems, with Workday knowledge being advantageous
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative working skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
