Matchtech Group is seeking a Systems Integration and Development Engineer to support R&D activities in the defence sector from Filton, Bristol. The role focuses on defining, building, integrating, testing and releasing edge gateway solutions for range extension and sensor integration across LOS and Beyond‑LOS environments.

The 12-month, full-time contract is on site with potential travel to customer locations for demonstrations, trials and testing. BPSS with full SC clearance is required.

Formación

• Experience in systems integration within defence or regulated environments.
• Strong systems engineering capability: requirements interpretation, architecture, interfaces.
• Practical experience integrating COTS hardware, software, network components, compute and gateways.
• Knowledge of IP networking, routing, WAN technologies, secure network design and interoperability.
• Experience planning and conducting integration, functional and interoperability testing.
• Experience with iterative or Agile development and backlog management.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Act as the principal day-to-day engineering focal point, coordinating design, development, integration, testing and technical documentation across multiple stakeholders.
• Translate user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria into technical tasks and development plans.
• Develop, integrate and configure tactical edge gateway solutions using COTS hardware, software and virtualization.
• Integrate radios, routers, sensors, gateways and Bearers of Opportunity for configurable solutions.
• Produce solution architectures, interface definitions, configuration records and BOMs.
• Plan and conduct integration, functional, performance and interoperability testing with objective evidence.
• Investigate faults, constraints, risks and changes.
• Support security, safety, quality, configuration management and governance.
