The Role

We are seeking an experienced Tableau Server Administrator to join our Technology and Digital Services team at Deloitte. You will support the existing Tableau Server platform used by over 120,000 users across 11 regions. Responsibilities include ensuring platform performance and stability, with occasional out-of-hours maintenance (typically once a month on a Saturday morning).

• Deep understanding of Tableau Server architecture, security, performance tuning, and best practices (networking, firewall configuration, server maintenance, patching, backups, disaster recovery).
• Scripting & Automation: Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, TabCMD for automation.
• Tableau Desktop & Prep: Familiarity with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep for report and dashboard creation.
• Collaboration & Communication: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to liaise effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
• Azure Cloud Experience: Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access, and managing servers in Microsoft Azure.
• BI & Data Skills: Experience with BI platforms like SAP BusinessObjects, Power BI, SQL, ETL, and data modeling from various sources including SAP HANA.
• Tableau Tools: Familiarity with Tableau Resource Monitoring Tool (RMT) and Content Migration Tool.
• DevOps: Understanding of Azure DevOps CI/CD processes.
• Web Development: Skills in HTML and CSS editing.

Deliverables:

• Server Administration: Manage, optimize, monitor, and troubleshoot the Tableau Server 2024.2 platform on Windows Server 2022, ensuring uptime and performance.
• Security Management: Oversee server security, including patching, upgrades, penetration testing, vulnerability management, and authentication protocols like SSO (SAML and OAuth).
• User Support: Provide technical support and training to end-users, resolving connectivity and access issues.
• Collaboration & Integration: Work with BI teams on content promotion, system integration, and governance.
• Proactive Monitoring: Monitor server health, capacity, and resource utilization to maintain stability.
• Content Management: Maintain and update web portal content and help pages.
