Job description

This is not a traditional Talent Acquisition role.

We’re looking for a commercially minded recruiter who knows how to build relationships, spot great people before they enter the market, and turn a network into a high-quality hiring pipeline.

The business is in a significant period of growth, with an ambitious plan to deliver 30% year-on-year growth across the group. Our brands are performing strongly, our markets are healthy, and we’re continuing to invest in high‑calibre people across the business.

Now we’re looking for someone to take ownership of how we identify, engage and hire that talent.

You’ll be the driving force behind proactive hiring across the business, with a particular focus on attracting high‑performing recruiters from competitors.

This is a one‑person TA function, so it’s a role for someone who enjoys autonomy, moves quickly and creates momentum rather than waiting for a brief to land in their inbox.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders and heads of desks, understanding where the business is heading and translating that into a proactive talent strategy.

A big part of the role will be getting out into the market: building your network, understanding competitor teams, mapping talent and having conversations with people who may not be actively looking but could be the right fit.

We already know our employee proposition and what differentiates each of our brands. Your job will be to take that proposition into the market and make the right people want to hear more.

  • Own proactive recruitment across the business, with a strong emphasis on competitor hiring
  • Build and maintain a high‑quality network of recruitment professionals across relevant markets
  • Develop talent pipelines across junior through senior levels
  • Market map competitors, teams and individual talent pools to identify opportunities
  • Use headhunting and direct sourcing techniques to engage passive candidates
  • Work closely with Heads of Department and desk leaders to understand hiring needs and challenge briefs where appropriate
  • Partner effectively with recruitment agencies and rec‑to‑rec partners where they add value
  • Manage external recruitment relationships and ensure candidates receive a consistently strong experience
  • Bring a commercial lens to every hiring decision — understanding both the quality of the hire and the business impact
  • Help hiring managers move quickly through a streamlined interview and offer process
  • Build a clear understanding of our different brands, their propositions and the talent they are best positioned to attract
  • Continually look for better, faster and more effective ways to build the hiring pipeline

What matters most is that you:

  • Have strong talent acquisition experience, ideally within a recruitment business
  • Are confident proactively headhunting rather than relying on inbound applications
  • Know how to build relationships and develop a network over time
  • Can market map and identify where the best talent sits
  • Have strong sales and influencing skills — you’re comfortable opening doors and selling an opportunity
  • Think commercially and understand what makes a candidate move
  • Are comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders and challenging when necessary
  • Are highly proactive and self‑directed
  • Enjoy working at pace and creating action without needing to be told what to do
  • Care about candidate experience and know that great hiring is about more than simply filling a vacancy
  • Commission structure, with flexibility for the right individual
  • 4 days in the London office, 1 day working from home
  • Monday–Thursday: 9am–6pm
  • Friday: 9am–5pm
  • 25 days' holiday
  • Pension
  • Life insurance
  • Health insurance

The role will be London-based but will have a global remit, including the opportunity to support hiring into the US market.
