Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students in KS3–KS5 across Middlesbrough. You will assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils overcome learning barriers and build confidence.

Shaping a positive, inclusive learning environment, you will monitor progress and offer feedback to staff. The role runs 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday, paying 15–17 GBP per hour; it is a full-time, temporary position with

We are recruiting on behalf of secondary schools across Middlesbrough seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students in KS3, KS4 and KS5 settings. About the role:

• Supporting students aged 11-19 across all year groups, depending on your preference and experience.
• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Providing tailored academic and pastoral support on a 1:1 basis.
• Supporting small groups of students, typically between 3-5 pupils.
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Encouraging student engagement, confidence and independence in the classroom.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

• Pay: 15 - 17 per hour
• Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
• Contract: Full-time, temporary position with the potential to become permanent
• Start Date: September 2026
• Location: Middlesbrough

Experience, Qualifications and Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a school, education, childcare, youth work or support-based setting is desirable.
• Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching & Learning, childcare or related qualification (preferred but not essential).
• Confident supporting students on a 1:1 basis and within small group settings.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, positive and proactive approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to process a new application.
• Professional child-related or care-related references covering the last two years.
