Job summary

Halfords Autocentres is seeking a Vehicle Technician to join our team in the West of England. You’ll have the opportunity to gain an MOT Tester licence with our support and a potential salary uplift on successful completion.

As a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, you’ll service and repair vehicles, including clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop environment.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards once qualified.
• Perform complex repairs and diagnostics across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.

Compensation and Benefits

• On-target earnings up to £41,240


• Comprising a base salary up to £34,640


• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £6,600 per year.


• Funded MOT Tester qualification with salary uplift on completion

5 days a week (This centre is closed on Sundays)

Job Overview

Looking to take the next step in your career? Join Halfords Autocentres as a Vehicle Technician, where you'll have the opportunity to gain your MOT Tester licence, if not currently held. We'll support you through this qualification, with a salary increase available on successful completion.

As a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic, you'll already be skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics across vehicle electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.

Once qualified, you'll also carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards and complete a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair work. From advanced diagnostics and complex repairs through to routine servicing, you'll ensure every vehicle is maintained and repaired to the highest standard, helping to keep our customers safely on the road.
