Job summary

Halfords Autocentres in Royal Leamington Spa is seeking a Vehicle Technician. You'll service, repair, and diagnose vehicles, progressing toward MOT testing with support for the qualification.

Salary ranges from £33,000 to £36,000 with an uncapped monthly bonus averaging £6,600 per year and a salary uplift on MOT qualification. A strong benefits package supports your development and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop environment.
• Full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repair work, including diagnostics.
• Carry out more complex repairs such as clutch and timing belt replacements.
• Contribute to MOT tests to DVSA standards when qualified.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

As a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic, you'll already be skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics across vehicle electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems. Once qualified, you'll also carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards and complete a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair work. From advanced diagnostics and complex repairs through to routine servicing, you'll ensure every vehicle is maintained and repaired to the highest standard, helping to keep our customers safely on the road.

Skills and Experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop environment
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and more complex repairs and replacements
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification
